Can manicure files be sterilized

A beautiful manicure is the result of the work of a master and the use of high-quality modern manicure tools. But nail care must also be safe, and for this you need to take care of high-quality and regular disinfection of all work attributes, including nail files. How do you sterilize these instruments?

HOW TO DISINFECT NAIL FILES AT HOME: PROCESSING STEPS

All instruments must be processed in several stages. This approach will help prevent the spread of bacteria and secure the file for future use. As a rule, processing is carried out in 4 stages:

  • files are disinfected using special solutions (they are often used in medicine to disinfect instruments), one of the advantages of which is the lack of the ability to corrode metal products;

  • the files are cleaned, removing the remnants of dirt;

  • instruments are sterilized using special equipment or solutions;

  • storage of files is also organized subject to special conditions.

To achieve the best results from the sterilization procedure, all processing steps must be carried out correctly.

How to handle manicure files: disinfection solutions

Disinfection with special solutions must be carried out in rubber gloves - they will protect the delicate skin of the hands from irritation. There are many options for disinfectants, but more often than not, only a few are used.

Alaminol is used as a 1% solution. To obtain such a concentration, 10 ml of the product is diluted in 1 liter of water. The finished solution can be stored for 10 days in a dark place.

Optimax is also easy to dilute. In a large volume of water (1 liter) dissolve 3 tablespoons of the product. The instruments are immersed in the solution for 20 minutes.

Disinfecting properties are also possessed by such products as Gigasept, Korzolex Plus, Blanidas.

HOW TO PROPERLY DISINFECT FILES

Follow the instructions - in most preparations, the files must be kept for 20 minutes. After disinfection, the instrument is wiped dry with a clean, sterile cloth. Ready solutions can be stored for up to 20 days. For complete disinfection of files, disinfection is not enough. Further sterilization will help to kill all bacteria and viruses.

How to treat nail files at home or in the salon: disinfection and sterilization

Disinfection of manicure tools can be carried out using various types of equipment. The main condition is the creation of such circumstances in which all pathogenic microorganisms will be completely destroyed. In most cases, this is heat.

Among the popular options for devices and apparatus used for sterilization:

  1. Ball sterilizer. The equipment allows you to sterilize a large number of files in a short time. The device is inexpensive, the balls will have to be replaced every six months. The disadvantage of this method is that the file handles will need to be processed independently.

  2. Dry oven or dry oven. Holds a large number of tools and carries out high-quality processing. The downside is high energy costs. At very high temperatures, nail files will last less.

  3. Autoclave. An economical version of the sterilizer, the processing of instruments in which is carried out with steam. The autoclave costs a lot; distilled water will be needed for processing. But the service life of the tools is not reduced.

How to handle nail files ? The choice depends on the capabilities and preferences of the owner of the tools. At home, for these purposes, an ordinary oven can be used, heated to 180 0 C and above. In such conditions, all microbes will be destroyed. Remember - files with plastic or paper elements cannot be sterilized in the oven.

How are nail files disinfected ? In many ways, the choice of an antiseptic depends on the characteristics of the instrument itself. For example, wood files are not placed in liquid solutions. Such files are either used once, or treated from a spray bottle with Descosept AF.

Suede-based buffs are not used in salons due to the impossibility of sterilizing them. At home, the buff can be treated with an ordinary antiseptic.

Different cutters differ in the depth and softness of the working cuts applied to them. They are washed in water using a brush and disinfected in a solution. Depending on the material of the handpieces, they can be sterilized in a dry heat, autoclave or ultrasonic sterilizer.

How to store manicure tools

Disinfection of files and other nail tools is carried out in special containers, and their storage is best done in hermetically sealed bags. The date of sterilization is indicated on the surface of the craft bag. Many packaging options are equipped with a transparent window through which you can see what is inside. Sterilization bags can be equipped with a small indicator to show if the sterilization has been done correctly.

Treat your manicure files with care and don't forget about safety. Nails should be beautiful and well-groomed, and the body should be healthy.
