Why do bubbles appear in gel polish?

Bubbles on a manicure can be seen quite often. In most cases, this phenomenon is associated with the quality of the materials used or the peculiarities of their application. Let's try to understand why the varnish is bubbling , how to prevent trouble and what to do if there is already swelling on the nails.

WHY DOES GEL POLISH ON NAILS BUBBLE

Bubble can be caused by shellac, base or topcoat. As a rule, you can suspect an unsightly ending in advance - in most cases, bubbles are visible even when the product is applied to the nail - they appear in the bottle. Why is this happening? The reasons are different:

  • the main reason is the ingress of air into the bottle when shaken - you should not make sudden movements with the bottle, the gel polish does not need stirring, like its ordinary counterpart, on the contrary - due to its high density, it "captures" air, creating the very bubbles;

  • bubbles can be the result of a loosely closed bottle cap - if you often wipe the brush on the neck, then the varnish layer on it will not allow the elements to fit snugly (clean the neck after using the varnish and check if the bottle is tightly closed);

  • the problem may arise due to a violation of the storage conditions for shellac - if the bottle is stored not in a vertical, but in a horizontal position, then a brush that is bare inside can also become a reason for bubbles;

  • if liquid gets into the product, bubbling may also begin: do not dilute the gel polish and do not mix different colors directly in the bottle;

  • the villi of an overly fluffed brush can trap excess air and leave it inside the bottle - the thick consistency of the varnish does not allow bubbles to come to the surface and burst.

Why does the gel polish bubble if there are no bubbles in the bottle? This can happen when using the top to cover bulky decorations, such as large sequins. In the process of applying the finish, the brush captures air with fluffed fibers and bubbles appear directly on the nail, bypassing the bottle. This problem can be solved by stage-by-stage application of the top - first cover the nail with a thin layer of finish, gently rubbing it in, after that - apply the main thick layer of the top with the usual movements.

FAVORITE GEL POLISH IS BUBBLING: HOW TO PREVENT THE PHENOMENON

Knowing why the paint is bubbling , it is easier to prevent this process. Observe the storage conditions for shellac - arrange the bottles vertically, close the lids tightly. check if there is any remaining varnish on the neck. Do not shake the bottles, if you want to mix the material - gently swirl the bottle between your hands. If you are using a complex nail decor, apply a thin layer of the top with rubbing brush movements. Reapply as usual.

Bubbles have already appeared in gel polish: how to fix it?

From what do the bubbles appear on the gel polish, top, base, you already know, it remains to find out if this difficulty can be solved or the varnish will have to be thrown away?

Open the container with the material without removing the brush. Leave the bottle in this form for several hours in the dark, avoid direct sunlight. Mix the contents gently with a brush. Close the bottle and scroll between your palms.

You can speed up the release of bubbles from the bottle: place an open bottle (with a brush - as in the previous method) in warm water and mix the product with a brush.

If bubbles form when the product is applied to the nail plate, they can also be removed (but only before drying). Take a thin brush and try to gently move the bubble to the edge of the nail, releasing air. If there are a lot of bubbles, it is better to wipe off the varnish and reapply it. Large bubbles can be pierced with a needle.

What if a problem is found after drying in a lamp? Unfortunately, this also happens. After drying, file away any irregularities with a file and try to fix the coating with a new thin layer.

Bubbles can appear if you remove your hand from the lamp at the very beginning of drying (for example, if gel polish bakes). The base may swell due to poor degreasing of the nail plate. Bloating can also occur due to the natural unevenness of the nail relief (they must be smoothed out beforehand), insufficient drying time, incompatibility of the base, top, and colored varnish compositions (use materials from the same manufacturer).
