How long can you wear gel polish without harming your nailspolish

Manicure with gelis one of the most popular and durable solutions for decorating and strengthening nails. The term for wearing gel polish is 14-21 days and this period was determined not at all because further wear is harmful to the marigolds. There are other, more significant reasons.

The nails grow back quickly enough. But the coating does not grow or stretch with them. Soon, the coated nail plates no longer look neat, the overgrown parts are placed at a lower level, the material itself stands out strongly against their background. Of course, a violation of the appearance of a manicure cannot be called a disaster, but in the process of growing marigolds, their architecture is also disturbed.

When updating the coating, the master first removes the old varnish, after which he processes the nail plates to form their architecture. This stage makes it possible to extend the wear period of the coating and avoid excessive fragility of the marigolds.

The stress zone of the nail is the place where it most often breaks. With the correct formation of nails, this zone shifts closer to the base of the nail plate, and in such situations it is very difficult to break the nail. As the marigold grows, the stress zone "rises", which increases the risks of breaking a beautiful manicure and urgently contacting a master for restoration (if possible). That is why the guarantee of wearing gel polish is 2-3 weeks - the period during which the nail manages to grow so much that the risk of breaking it increases.

But it is important to understand that the stress zone for nails can be different and its definition is purely individual in nature.

How to find out how long you can walk with gel polish

How long can you wear gel polishin a particular case? Each girl can find out the approximate location of the stress zone for her nails. To do this, carry out a simple test:

  • remove the gel polish;

  • press on the edge of the nail so that the area being pressed turns white;

  • the place between the white and natural areas will be a stress zone for you.

Most often, this place is located approximately in the center of the nail plate, slightly shifted towards the cuticle. The old cover can be worn until it reaches this point. As soon as the nail grows to this limit, the manicure must be updated, because this position will already be a threat to its integrity. Why is it impossible to overstay gel polish? Every day the nails grow back a certain distance. The stress zone is shifting closer and closer to the edge of the marigold and just after 2-3 weeks the risk of getting a crack or chipping will be large enough to urgently contact a master.

How long can you wear gel polish and why it is not worth prolonging it?

The term of wearing a manicure is very individual. If your marigolds do not grow very quickly, you can wear the coating longer than the indicated time frame, from a couple of weeks. As a rule, the nail plates are completely renewed in a period of up to 4 months. They grow at different rates on the left and right hand, and the growth rate may also differ on different fingers. The risk of getting damaged nails is higher precisely on those fingers where the nails grow faster.

What problems can you expect when overburdening gel polish? One of them is a violation of the aesthetic appeal of the hands. But it is not as bad as the risk of breaking a nail or getting serious health problems. There is indeed a connection between manicure and health. Over-wearing the coating increases the risk of nail detachment at the base.

In the first days after visiting the salon, the gel polish perfectly covers the nails. Its “beginning” is hidden under the cuticle. After a few days, an uncoated area appears at the base, which increases every day. Water, dirt, dust gets under the coating in this place. It starts to flake off. When brushing or washing your hair, hairs can also get caught in the coating, causing discomfort. Already after 2-3 weeks, the adhesive force of the coating and the nail decreases and under the weight of the gel layer air cavities, detachments, and violations of the integrity of the nails can form. Pathogenic microorganisms that can cause inflammation, suppuration, and fungus fall into these zones.

It is important to remember: always update your manicure on time. How often you need doto do gel polish corrections? If you really want to take care of your nails and prevent problems, make an appointment with the master once every 2-3 weeks. It is convenient to schedule the next visit to the studio just after the next update of the manicure. In this case, you will not be able to forget about the need to make a record.

The use of quality materials will help reduce the threat of cracks, chips and varnish flaking. Look for products from well-known manufacturers with a good reputation. They have good durability and help to safely wear the cover throughout the life. When should you remove gel polish? If, after a certain period, you notice a violation of the integrity of the coating, its appearance has ceased to suit you, detachments have appeared - it's time to visit a nail master. Many women of fashion go for a correction every week, providing a beautiful and well-groomed look to the nails without interruptions for noticeable regrowth.
