How to use a manicure pusher

One of the tools most often used for edging manicure is a pusher, which helps to quickly and efficiently process the bed of the nail plate and remove the cuticle without the use of scissors (which are not always convenient at this stage). Pusher is used precisely to painlessly remove the pterygium (skin growing on the nail) and cut the cuticle. Thus, with the use of a pusher, preparation for further processing of nails and application of the coating proceeds much faster and more efficiently.

As a rule, a pusher is a double-sided tool, one of the sides of which is presented in the form of a paddle, and the other can be made in different versions:

  • hatchet;
  • putty knife;
  • fork.

What is the best pusher to buy? The choice depends on the type of your nails and their individual characteristics.

TYPES OF MANICURE PUSHERS

Manicure tools can be made from different materials. On sale are pushers made of metal, plastic, wood, silicone. The material varies, as a rule, the handles of the product, but the tips are made of metal.

A cuticle pusher is a tool, the type of which largely determines how to use it. You can buy the product in the following versions:

  • unilateral
  • bilateral
  • with rubber or silicone tip;
  • for pedicure with extended working tips.

One-way pusher is the least functional version of the tool. In most cases, they are used to push back the cuticle. Bilateral tools help both to move the cuticle and to process the nail bed as efficiently as possible, cleaning it in the most inaccessible places.

The shape of the pusher tip can also be different - round, square, oval, almond-shaped, convex or flat.

One of the varieties of the pusher is the scraper. This tool is equipped with a cutting fork to help shed excess skin. How to use a scraper ? The sharp fork-shaped tip is sharpened on both inner sides, so that the cuticle can be cut in one stroke. The rest of the rules for using the scraper are similar to the use of the classic pusher.

HOW TO PICK A GOOD PUSHER

What are the best pushers and scrapers? Those that can be processed with the highest quality before use. As a rule, such instruments are made of medical steel - they are durable, reliable, they can be sterilized and disinfected. Wooden and plastic products fail quickly and are, in most cases, disposable options.

When choosing a pusher, pay attention to the sharpening of the working part of the tool. It should be sharp, smooth, free from chipping or burr. The pusher handle should not slip in the hand, be firmly held in the palm.

Select the tool according to the shape of the nail plate. A universal solution is oval pushers, which are equally good at processing nail beds of different shapes.

How to use a pusher

Pusher - how to use the tool? Application rules are simple:

  • prepare your hands for a manicure by making a nail bath (with a decoction of chamomile) and lubricating the cuticle with oil to soften the skin;
  • blot your hands with a towel to remove excess moisture;
  • with a pusher spatula, push the cuticle to the edge of the nail bed;
  • Trim excess skin, burrs, pterygium with wire cutters or scissors.

When processing nail plate and cuticle with a pusher, take your time, devoting enough time to work with each nail. Place the working surface of the instrument as close to the skin as possible so as not to touch the "live" areas. Only cut off the skin that is not sensitive to processing. With increased dryness of the cuticle, you can moisturize it in several approaches - this way you will surely make the skin soft and avoid injury.

When using a nail pusher, place your hands on a firm, level surface to prevent the tool from slipping. Do not press on the pusher to avoid denting and deforming the nail.

Pusher for manicure - you already know how to use it. In order for the instrument to serve as long as possible and to ensure the safety of nail processing, carefully monitor the sanitary condition of the instrument. Metal pushers can be treated with a special disinfectant solution) only after mechanical cleaning of the instrument), boiled, treated with ultraviolet light. Plastic and wooden pushers are treated with alcohol - wipe the tool along its entire length, paying particular attention to the working surfaces.
