How to properly work with different types of cuticles

When choosing the type of manicure, masters pay attention to many details and one of the most important is the type of cuticle. The way it is best to handle the nail plate and the skin around it largely depends on its condition. Not all cuticles can be easily and quickly removed, but not all cuticles will look aesthetically pleasing to an unedged manicure. How to understand which type of procedure is most suitable and not cause harm to your nails and health?

DRY CUTICLE: FEATURES OF WORK

Dry cuticles cause a lot of anxiety and inconvenience to the owner. The skin is dense, often rough and cracked. It does not protect the area around the nail plate poorly; burrs, inflammation and fungus form on it. Even the most beautiful and fashionable manicure looks sloppy.

When processing overdried cuticles, the master should be extremely careful. In this case, the trimming method is not suitable - with this method of work, it is easy to damage thin skin. Capillaries placed close to its surface begin to bleed, which can lead to the development of an infection. The best care option is hardware manicure. With the help of certain nozzles on the cutter, you can carefully remove the dry pterygium, without creating a threat of damage to the skin and the formation of wounds, and infection. The skin is not completely cut off - it is sanded to a very thin layer and continues to perform its protective functions. After work, the cuticle is treated with oil or moisturizer. The master will remind the client of the need for careful hand protection during contact with aggressive substances, hard water when doing homework.

WHAT IS WET CUTICLE AND HOW TO WORK WITH IT

Sticky cuticle or wet, as this type of skin is also called, has high elasticity. Removing it always carries the risk of damaging the skin and getting injured. The best solution would be a combined manicure:

  • dry the cuticle first;

  • push back the skin with a pusher;

  • clean the pterygium with a cutter;

  • cut the cuticle with scissors and grind the rollers with a special router bit.

Manicure with wet cuticles should be done very carefully and carefully.

What is a creeping cuticle?

creeping or creeping cuticle grows on the nail plate. Over time, cracks appear on the overgrown skin, which leads to a deterioration in the appearance of the nails and the formation of inflammation. How to take care of your hands in this case? The cuticle is gently lifted with a cutter, the pterygium is cleaned, and the rollers are polished with a milling nozzle. The cuticle should be cut strictly along the growth line. At home, such a cuticle should be regularly pushed aside with an orange stick, preventing it from spreading over the nail plate. Apply a softener to the area to be treated before the procedure.

If you have a hard cuticle, choose a combination manicure.

The cuticle is not always easy to process. Sometimes there are very dense variants of it, which is difficult even for a professional master to work with. In such cases, an unedged or combined manicure is suitable. If your cuticle is not very large and dense, try pushing it back. If the size of the resulting roller is too large, use a remover to remove it. The product thinns the dense cuticle, and its remnants can be cut off with scissors.

Injured cuticles require special treatment

Sometimes the cuticle takes on a completely unkempt and sloppy look. Cracks, burrs, rough areas appear on it. This may be the result of bad habits, illness, injury. In such situations, the master uses only the technology of edged manicure, because the cutter can further damage the skin. If there are wounds in the work area, they are treated with an antiseptic. Use sharp scissors to cut the burrs and cuticles. Regular oil treatment of the problem area will help speed up the healing of the cuticle. If the problem persists, be sure to visit a dermatologist.

What kind of cutter is convenient to remove the cuticle?

Hardware manicure can be used to work on a wide variety of cuticle types. Only in rare cases is this technique inapplicable due to the presence of wounds and weak nails. Taking into account the types of nail cuticles, the master will select the best option for a nozzle for a manicure cutter. The most popular solution is a ball-shaped nozzle. It does not injure the nail plate and is suitable for almost all types of cuticles.

Another good solution is a cone-shaped nozzle. It is she who will help to lift the cuticle before removal. The cylindrical nozzle can also be used to push back the skin, but requires expert handling. A flat cylindrical cutter attachment is suitable for grinding the side rollers.
